In garment factories work is managed through different departments and it is done in teams. Work in a garment factory begins with sample development and continues until it reaches the buyer.



Different departments of garment factories are:


1. Marketing and Business Development Department

The marketing department job is to create new customers and provide clothing according to customer demand. To maintain good relationship and engagement with new and old customers and to give correct idea about the clothes to the customer.


2. Design Department

Design department deals with garment development. To interest the customer by designing clothes according to the era. The design department has a wide variety of clothing design collections.


3. Department of Industrial Engineering

The job in the industrial engineering department is to increase production and keep track of how much work can be done to deliver garments on time. This department does production analysis. To give proper advice on how many machines to work, how much time will be required, how much work should be done in how much time.


4. Merchandising Department

The function of this department is to maintain the relationship between the insect factory and the buyer. Taking orders from the customer and supplying clothes as per his demand. The job of this department is to collect the correct information from the customer about his needs. Sample merchandising involves working directly with the customer on sample development. The work of product merchandising is to deal with production, planning.


5. Pattern Department and Kate Department

Proper use of clothing design is his job in this department.


6. Sampling Department

The task of this department is to develop samples as per customer requirements. One of the tasks of this department is to maintain the quality of samples. This department works with the production department.


7. Fabrics Store and Fabrics Sourcing Department

The job of this department is to collect accurate information about where any fabrics are available.


8. Accessories Department

Where to store what in the garment factory this department is responsible for. This department's job is to collect the correct information about where the goods have been delivered.


9. Fabrics Testing Lab Dept

The job of this department is to check the quality of fabrics and provide information to the buyer.


10. Production and Control Department

This department works to deliver garments to the customer at the right time, at the right place, by completing the right tasks. This department makes the exact schedule of where any work has to be completed.


11. Cutting Department

12. Swing Department

The job of this department is to collect the correct information about whether the garments are being stitched correctly and to supervise whether the work is done correctly.


13. Quality Control Department

This department job is to see if there is any problem in the clothing.


14. Machine Maintenance Department

The job of this department is to keep proper supervision of the machines. Maintain information on machine problems so that no work is interrupted. Setting up machines, repaying, looking after all machine related issues.


15. Garment Washing Department

The function of this department is to wash clothes. If there is any dirt, clean it.


16. Finishing Department

The work of this department is to check whether the iron is done correctly, tagging, whether there is any thread coming out, packing.


17. Printing Department

It is the job of this department to monitor whether the printing is done correctly.


18. Embutary Department

This department supervises whether the embutary is done properly.

The supporting departments of the garment factory are: There are some departments which are not directly involved in production but they support the work related to production.


19. Accounting Department

The work of the accounting department is to pay the salaries of the employees, bank related work, keeping the accounts of the company.


20. Human Resource and Administration

The function of this department is to recruit staff, look after the facilities, training and enforcement of the staff.


21. Electronic data processing

The function of Electronic Data Processing Department is to provide technical support.


22. Shipping and Documentation

The function of this department is to arrange the timely arrival of the shipment to the buyer and to maintain the record of this work.
